Optavia Reviews – Day 3 Proves Don’t Always Listen to Them

Here it is guys and gals! My Day 3 on the Optavia Optimal Weight 5 & 1 Plan!

Has it been rough thus far? Yes… but no harder than trying to find a cute outfit being shamingly obese!

If you are anything like me, you have been reading ALL of the available Optavia Reviews. Well… keep reading to find my thoughts and experiences with some of those reviews.

Because I am long-winded (with the sole intentions of giving you all the nitty gritty details), you can reach the beginning of my journey by clicking HERE! Otherwise, keep reading to see what the completion of 3 days on this program looked like!

DAYS 1 & 2 QUICK RECAPS – Lessons Learned

I want to begin by a quick review of what I took forward from days one and two on the Optimal Weight 5 & 1 Program.

  1. Start each day with the mindset of taking one day at a time.
  2. Eat the applicable “fuelings” with none other than a baby spoon.
  3. The healthy snack option is definitely your friend.
  4. The Lean & Green Meal is a HUGE portion of food. PTL!
  5. When feeling low, turn to the Optavia community for motivation and mental support.

Fueling Thoughts Thus Far:

  1. The Frosted Cookie Dough Bar is delicious but a very small portion.
  2. I do like the Drizzled Berry Crisp Bar for a nice fruity and sweet snack but it, like the other bars, is still very small.
  3. The Creamy Double Peanut Butter Crisp Bar definitely hits a peanut butter craving and is more filling than some of the other bars, but is very messy.
  4. The smoky BBQ crunchers taste awful to me at this point in my journey but definitely aid my water intake.
  5. I love the Roasted Garlic Creamy Smashed Potatoes.
  6. The Decadent Chocolate Brownie is to die for and really appeases that sweet tooth craving.
  7. The Mac n Cheese is a disappointment as I haven’t mastered a way to get the noodles soft.

I woke up on Day 3 of the Optimal Weight 5 & 1 Program down an additional 2 pounds for a total of 4.8 pounds! 4.8 POUNDS IN TWO DAYS YA’LL! I was ready to see what another day would bring… where will I be at the end of Day 3? When you see results like this, it definitely motivates you to keep going!

DAY 3 – The Ice Storm Hit with Morning Shenanigans

If you will recall, this East Texas gal has been dealing with a once-in-a-lifetime snowmageddon this first week on plan. While it was a blast on Days 1 & 2 with playing and sledding, on Day 3 it became a nightmare. We woke up to record-breaking sub-zero temperatures.

Not only did the unheard of (in my area) temperatures cause pipes to freeze and our electric system to malfunction, but the previous snow on the ground (and roads) became layered with ice.

The hubbie & I were to get our oldest daughter to the hospital by 6am for her 12 hour shift as a NICU nurse… even though she is grown and has her own little family, there was NO way that we were letting her venture out in these conditions.

FUELING 1 – Easy Can be Good Sometimes

I awoke at 4:30am in preparation for the transfer. First fueling of the day was at 5am. I went with my trusty chocolate shake that I absolutely LOVED yesterday. It was quick, easy and hit the spot.

We hit the road slipping and sliding everywhere only to make it 1.5 miles down the road to pick up our daughter and what happened? My hubbie’s truck just stopped… in the middle of the road! The electrical system froze over. He took off running in sub-zero temperatures, in the dark, down the icy roads back to the house. I stayed with the truck.

Long story short, we got a tow only to find the truck functioning again and my daughter did make it to work on time.

FUELING 2 – It is Essential to Always be Prepared

This was quite a morning. I am thankful that I had my water jug with me AND packed fueling number 2… I had grabbed a Peanut Double Crisp Bar AND some napkins as we were leaving the house this morning at the crack of dawn. I enjoyed this fueling around 8am in the truck sliding home. LOL.

We were finally back home. No electricity. Thankfully we had a generator which we utilized to try to keep our pipes somewhat warm.

I spent the next few hours on my phone drinking water, speaking with friends, and watching road conditions and reports of accidents in our little town.

FUELING 3 – Optavia Reviews Can be Wrong

Before I knew it, it was 11am and time to eat again… Fueling #3!

I knew that I needed something that didn’t require much preparation as we were still without electricityand I chose the Cinnamon Crunchy O’s.

If you have read some of the Optavia Reviews that I did, then you can imagine that I was extremely nervous about trying this particular fueling as many of the reviews were negative. I made the decision that now was the time to give them a try, grabbed them, ate them straight out of the bag and…

OMG… I LOVED them!

I found that for me, this would be a terrific go-to fueling. They were easy with absolutely no preparation and were tasty with a nice (but not too overwhelming) cinnamon flavor. In addition, they were easy to drink water with. The amount of food in the package seemed abundant and the nice crunch just did something for me!

Mental note: This particular fueling is not something to be scarfed down. Drag it out… enjoy every single little bite. Munch away!

LEAN & GREEN TIME – Making a Meal with No Electricity

Because I was a little stressed about this Lean & Green today with the absence of electricity AND was starving by 1pm, I made the decision to switch things up a little and do my meal as my fourth “eating”. I figured that deciding what to prepare and how to prepare it would occupy some time and that I would be eating before I knew it!

Stores were all closed due to the weather so I walked into my pantry and looked around.

I saw a can of white meat chicken… OK… my lean. Now… what to put with it? I decided on none other than a can of green beans.

While cold, canned chicken and cold, canned green beans doesn’t sound like the tastiest of meals, I knew that at the end of the day it was within my plan limits and would fill me up. It got the job done.

By 2pm all that was left was an empty plate. I was satisfied at the moment, but a little nervous that I only had two fuelings to last me the rest of this cold, dreary day!

There was no playing in the snow… it was ice. There was no watching movies… no electricity. Thankfully we had a charger plugged into the generator that enabled me to keep up with the world on my phone in addition to a deck of cards which allowed us to spend some quality family time together gathered around the table.

I could foresee some tough hours ahead though.

Fuelings 4 & 5 – Don’t Forget the Healthy Snack Option Too

Card games, board games… you name it and we did it! My family is competitive to say the very least. Things got intense in my household.

By about 4pm I felt like I was literally starving and had already consumed SO much water. I even debated that with these “extenuating circumstances” that I could just cave in and eat ALL the things.

Knowing that I only had two fuelings left for the day, after all the bickering back and forth in my head, I grabbed two pickle spears and turned to the Optavia community.

THIS is EXACTLY what I needed! The awesome community that surrounds this company reminded me of my “why” and the success stories I read gave me the motivation that I needed at that precise moment to just stick it out.

I made it until 5pm and chose my all-time favorite brownie (prepared as batter, of course) as my 4th fueling. I savored every single bite with my baby spoon. It really hit the spot.

By 7:30pm and another round of cards and games I came to the realization that if I didn’t have my last fueling at that moment that I was going to binge.

What did I have?

I savored ANOTHER brownie batter for my 5th and final fueling of the day. I mean two brownies in one day and STILL 100% on plan. How great was that?

I KNEW that this was really early in the day for me to be out of “eatings”. I ran a nice, hot bath, soaked for a while, and decided to just retire on to bed by about 9pm.

Day 3 Final Thoughts

As I laid down in bed, I allowed myself to reflect upon my day.

My first thought, as I relived the day, was how essential it was to be prepared. ALWAYS have an extra fueling anytime you venture out as you NEVER know what the next few hours may hold.

My next line of thinking went to those Cinnamon O’s as food was definitely on my mind. I was excited about them and knew that in the future I could not depend solely on Optavia Reviews to determine which fuelings to try to not try. What is horrible for one person may, in fact, be the next person’s saving grace.

I was so extremely proud of myself for surviving Day 3 and could not wait to step on the scales in the morning knowing that I had stuck to plan.

In addition, I realized that this isn’t easy… I had many trials and tribulations today. Then I sort of giggled because I realized that there are many things about being obese that isn’t easy either.

It is HARD (no lies out of me here)… the choices you have to make in order to reach your goals are HARD. Again… staring at my closest trying to find something to wear to hide my fat is HARD too. I had to choose my HARD.

I drifted off to dreamland envisioning a more healthy version of myself.

You know, or hopefully know by now, that I don’t like to end without touching on my results for the day! I awoke on Day 4 of the Optimal Weight 5 & 1 Program to TWO additional pounds gone! This makes a total of 6.8 pounds lost forever in THREE DAYS!
