WHO IS DR. MISTY?
A little about me.
I am a podiatric physician turned health coach. Yes… you did read that correctly!
Let me explain.
Podiatric Medicine has been my life for 17 years. With a busy practice, a loving hubbie, three active kiddos, and two of the sweetest grands you have ever seen, my personal health (weight in particular) began to spiral out of control. Before I knew it, I saw a number on the scale that I NEVER believed that I would EVER see. I was obese which led to constant tiredness, apathy and my joints just plain ached.
I have the education to know the detrimental effects of obesity on the body. In fact, within my practice, I would personally witness the struggles my patients developed with regard to their feet due to added weight. Yet… here I was… fat and miserable.
I sought out numerous “quick fix” diet plans that initially seemed promising but always led to failure and another gain.
Finally, I found a program that worked for me and I am down 65 pounds… SIXTY-FIVE!!!!

Not only do I LOOK better, but I FEEL like a new woman. The tiredness that I previously felt has been replaced with an energy that I simply cannot explain. The pain in my joints has fully dissipated. It is SO easy to pick out clothes in the morning (surely you gals can appreciate that this struggle is so real when you are carrying extra weight).
I was so inspired by the changes in myself that I pursued further education in health coaching.
WHY AM I HERE?
YOU are here, obviously, because you (or someone close to you) are struggling with extra poundage. I am here because I totally, 100% get you. I was in your shoes not long ago and I KNOW, without a doubt, that I can help you reach your goals!
I want to pay it forward, engage my audience (you), and aid you in both the physical and mental work that it takes to not only get healthy, but to STAY healthy.
I am so ecstatic at my own progress and I want anyone who has a desire to lose weight (whether it’s 10 pounds or 110 pounds) to have a REAL chance to improve their livelihood AND feel amazing doing so.

There are so many weight loss scams out there. Many of these products and services were created by individuals who have NEVER even struggled with their own weight. They just don’t get it.
I DO get it, and I am here to provide you with a genuine resource via DUMP THE RUMP to utilize as a tool to make informed and educated decisions on how to proceed with healthy weight loss. We will explore a multitude of facets surrounding losing weight.

Hi Dr Misty, thanks for building a website to help people to lose weight. I’m 47 years old and I’m struggling to lose weight. I always try to eat healthy food and avoid junk food. I walk everyday because I heard that walking is one of the best exercises.
As you know, losing weight after 40 is really difficult for some women. As we age, we begin to lose muscle mass, causing our metabolism to slow down. My question to you, is it possible to lose weight after 40?

Hello Bushra and thank you so much for commenting! To answer your question… it is 100% possible to lose weight over the age of 40. I am in my mid 40’s and since February of this year I have lost 65 pounds. It may come off a tad bit slower vs someone in their twenties and thirties, but it is completely do-able. You just need the right mind-set and know how to do it! Let me know if you would like me to personally help you get there.
